Green activist and Sudbury South West Councillor Laura Smith has continued with measuring the quality of the water at sewage outlets into the Stour, around the town. The tests which show instances of e-coli in the water say that if the samples show more than 9 instances then it is a concern for bathers and people using the river. The samples which were taken over a number of weeks repeatedly showed multiple instances of e-coli in the water, in several cases the results were extreme in number.
This is a huge concern and threatens the health of anyone that uses the river. Laura has said that work will continue with green activists across the district, to highlight this problem.
